Recently, the State made drastic cuts to life-saving breast cancer services for women in California. Next Monday, breast cancer survivors, advocates and legislative champions will gather at the Capitol with the rallying cry, "Every Woman Does Counts!"
The Every Woman Counts program provides mammograms to underserved women, but closed its doors to new entrants on January 1 and will not reopen until July. When services are reinstated, the program will no longer screen women aged 40–49.
